I posted a news item taken from the Denver Business Journal today over on my personal weblog, entitled, “Denver and the DNC Convention.”
This got me thinking about not only trials and opportunities here for us in Denver, but also, the opportunities for those who are in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, for the Republican National Convention, September 1-4, 2008. This will be the first time that a Presidential Election will have the tools of New Media, Social Media, Personal Broadcasting, Twitter, along with other internet tools not yet available or though of yet.
I’ve yet to do any research, (ie: Googleing) to see if there is any organized effort on anyone’s part to offer a personal view of either convention. This would also reach to those who are distrustful of the Main Stream Media, and want more than the :30 second sound bites, carefully crafted evening news stories, and the prime time coverage by the three Networks and the Cable News Networks.
I’ll assert that this is a great opportunity to show, the power and presence of this medium that we’re currently living and growing with on an hour by hour basis.
